About Rzymskokatolicka Parafia Podwyższenia Krzyża Świętego w Spycimierzu - Flower Carpets

The church in Spycimierusz attracts tourists primarily during Corpus Christi, when spectacular flower carpets are laid in front of the temple. This tradition is worth seeing in person — a spectacular display of colors and scents created from thousands of flowers.

The Parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Spycimierusz is a small village near Łódź with a church that takes on special character during Corpus Christi celebrations. Traditional carpets made of live flowers are prepared in front of the temple — a beautiful custom with hundreds of years of history. The floral carpet is created by the hardworking parish community, and the effect is impressive both up close and from an aerial perspective. If you're interested in religious tradition and local culture, it's worth visiting during the Corpus Christi period (approximately 2 months after Easter). You can watch the carpet-making process, photograph the finished work, and participate in the procession. It's also an opportunity to experience the authentic life of a small parish and understand how ancient customs are preserved to this day.
