About this event
An exceptional orchestra created by two generations of musicians sharing the same surname. When brothers Jan, Karol, Marcin, and Mateusz recorded their first carol album in 1991, several current ensemble members were not yet born. The program was recorded by TVP, and their carols became staples on radio playlists.
Today, Pospieszalscy is a recognized brand on the Polish music scene. They realize their own projects, compose for other performers, create popular songs, and also develop elaborate forms of jazz and classical music. They have film scores, television productions, and numerous concert projects to their credit.
On stage, the fifteen-member ensemble impresses with energy, virtuosity, and remarkable stylistic freedom. Many are multi-instrumentalists, so the orchestra's sound constantly changes, and in bold arrangements jazz, classical music, Polish folklore, and big band converge. Brilliant solo passages, improvisations, and surprising instrumental combinations give well-known carols and pastorales freshness while preserving their original character.
This stylistic freedom, vitality, and performance perfection make the concert far from predictable, traditional caroling. Alongside moments of reflection and emotion, there is spontaneity, humor, and enormous stage vitality. However, what particularly captivates audiences are the authentic family relationships and the atmosphere of making music together—thanks to these, even a large concert retains something of the character of an intimate gathering around instruments.
