Film, Łódź Wielu Kultur Festival. A screening of a French-Belgian film about the coming-of-age of sixteen-year-old Paula, the only hearing person in a deaf family, who has been interpreting the hearing world for her parents since childhood. After discovering her vocal talent, she must choose between her dreams and responsibility to her loved ones. The screening is an introduction to a conversation about the experiences of CODAs—hearing children of deaf parents. After the film, there will be a meeting with Aleksandra Pyrek, a CODA, Polish Sign Language interpreter and founder of the Pomigam brand. The meeting will include short communication exercises and basic Polish Sign Language signs. The event is primarily aimed at high school students.
