It's been known for a long time that a dog is man's best friend. Over the past few years, public awareness about the proper treatment of animals has increased significantly; moreover, more and more dog and cat-friendly places are appearing. Where in Łódź can you take your four-legged pet with you?

Cafés and restaurants

Until recently, the idea that you could bring a four-legged companion to a café or restaurant was simply absurd. Currently, the situation is changing. First of all, you can take your dog to… dozens of restaurants in Łódź! Among them are, for example, Mebloteka Yellow, the café-club Niebostan, Prosto z Mostu and Vinda. Dogs are also welcome at Trattoria Bandiera Italiana, Heksagon, Sielsko Anielsko and Szwalnia Smaków. As you can see – the possibilities are really numerous, and animal-friendly establishments are significantly more than just a few years ago. It's also worth mentioning the special offer at Stacji Street Food. This is the place where, in addition to people, their pets will also eat. The restaurant offers dishes for four-legged friends; dogs eat prepared meals from bowls placed on the floor.

Where to walk with your dog?

Where, in turn, is it best to go for a walk with our four-legged friend? We will certainly have no problems on the Łódź Błonia (an area located between Kusocińskiego, Juszczakiewicza and Konstantynowskiej streets, as well as areas around Retkińska Górka) and in Uroczsko Lublinek. It is the second largest municipal forest in Łódź, located in the Łódź-Polesie district. The areas are excellent for long walks, and both are situated somewhat off the beaten path, which means we don't have to worry about the safety of our four-legged friends.

Shopping and accommodation

It turns out that more and more shops and institutions in Łódź are dog-friendly. One of them is Centrum Handlowe M1, which introduced the possibility of entering with a dog back in 2016. Another interesting exception is Łódzkie Centrum Komiksu on ul. Więckowskiego – you don't have to leave your dog outside there either. With your pet, you can even enter… a fitness center. This possibility is offered by 60minut, a personal training studio. It is also significant that you can rent a hotel room even if you have a four-legged companion – we can spend the night without any problems at, among others, the Prząśniczka center, Villa Pory Roku or Green Hostel 24.

It's no wonder that all the mentioned places enjoy the sympathy of Łódź residents. Most of them have been known for a long time (especially when it comes to cafés and restaurants), and some are regularly visited by most city residents (M1). The ability to enter various places with a four-legged friend significantly makes life easier.
