January in Łódź is a good month for lovers of Jamaican rhythms. Already in mid-month at the Łódzki Dom Kultury there will be a concert by Punky Reggae. This is the 10th edition of a meeting of some of the most recognizable Polish musical bands performing reggae music. This time the stage will welcome bands such as Farben Lehre, The Analogs, and Dr Misio. These are just a few of the major performers. Looking back at previous editions of the concerts, you can be sure that this time too there will be no shortage of good fun. Punky Reggae is a unique event whose idea is to bring people together. Maria Emilia will perform on a Polish stage for the first time!

In the second month of 2020, on the list of concerts in Łódź there is also a performance by Maria Emilia. February 15th is a unique opportunity to see on stage one of the greatest Brazilian vocalists. This is a debut on the Polish stage – the Brazilian will visit our country for the first time. This news will certainly delight all her fans who live in Poland. The vocalist grew up in a family where music was their daily bread. Although she had considerable experience performing on stage – for years she performed with her own father in clubs in her hometown – she recorded her first album less than two years ago. The album titled "Casa de fado" immediately proved to be a hit. Maria is a talented singer whose voice delights even the most demanding listeners.

We also have good news for lovers of sung poetry. On February 24th, Grzegorz Turnau will come to the stage of one of Łódź's clubs. This Polish artist is a pianist, composer, poet and vocalist all at once. His work is rated very highly by music critics. The style he represents cannot be forced into well-worn musical schemas. Sometimes in his work one can see the influence of jazz and smooth jazz. The musician has been nominated and awarded multiple times for his musical activities. He is among others the winner of 9 Fryderyk awards and 2 Wiktor awards. The announced material for the upcoming concert is part of his latest album titled "Bedford". The album is, as the artist himself emphasizes, a journey to childhood times, a sentimental record of the past from childhood years. This time we have the opportunity not only to listen to the works of this brilliant vocalist, but also to become familiar with his autobiography.
