Study in Łódź – programs you won't find at other universities

The city is heavily investing in the development of universities and spaces friendly to young people. Łódź authorities understand perfectly well that students are a driving force and are worth fighting for – especially if they were to stay in the city after completing their education. In the offerings of Łódź universities you will find many programs that cannot be studied anywhere else. 

Theatre, film and television techniques

This is a specialization within the artistic education program offered by the Łódź Academy of Fine Arts. People who decide to study this specialization can count not only on solid preparation in terms of painting, drawing and photography, but above all – on building stage design and creating costumes. Great emphasis is placed on the construction and animation of puppets for animated films. This is undoubtedly a program that is difficult to find at another university in Poland.

Screenwriting

The State Higher School of Film, Theatre and Television in Łódź (also called the Film School in Łódź or Łódź "filmówka") has in its offering a unique program called screenwriting. Although several film schools and universities operate in Poland, screenwriting has not yet received its own separate program. Candidates for the university can choose between first and second cycle studies. Additionally, the assurance that they will perfect their craft under the guidance of the best.

Urban revitalization

The name of the program may sound quite exotic to some. Urban revitalization is a two-year supplementary (master's) studies conducted jointly by two universities – the University of Łódź and the Łódź University of Technology. The idea was born from market observation and what is happening in the city's backyard. Revitalization is becoming increasingly popular, however there is a lack of specialists who would be able to deal with all aspects. Łódź universities want to change this, and employ the best graduates in the city's revitalization processes. 

Eco-city

Revitalization is actually not the only study program in Łódź that is related to the city as a certain type of space. As you can read on the University of Łódź website, the university plans to train specialists in the field of sustainable urban development. They would combine an ecological approach with economic thinking. These are bachelor's studies and are undoubtedly an interesting offer for people who also believe that the trend of cities changing will become increasingly strong.

E-history

The Faculty of Philosophy and History at the University of Łódź has prepared an interesting proposal for working professionals who wish to continue their education - e-history is an excellent combination of a passion for the past with an innovative approach to learning. Non-stationary studies with e-learning allow you to combine education with full-time work, giving a modern humanist a chance to improve their existing qualifications. The program prepares students for positions in public institutions, political, local government, educational and cultural institutions and museums. E-history graduates will also do excellently on the market as heads of public administration offices, publicists, bloggers or publishing house employees.

Entrepreneurship and innovation management

Another program from the University of Łódź's offering. Usually entrepreneurship studies are conducted as part of postgraduate studies; at the University of Łódź, however, these are stationary studies. People who decide to study in this program will learn, among other things, how to create their own business plan, will find out what sources of company financing can be, will learn creative entrepreneurial behaviors, and will be able to recognize current trends and introduce innovations to their enterprises.

Textiles and the fashion industry

This program could not be missing from the list. Textiles was once the pride of Łódź; currently, many fashion designers are associated with the city. A graduate of textiles from the Łódź University of Technology will not only be able to apply and process raw materials dedicated to textile products. They will also learn to use the achievements of biotechnology, electrical engineering and nanotechnology to produce innovative textile materials. Textiles and the fashion industry is a 3.5-year engineering program. 

Intelligent building control systems

This is another innovative program at the Łódź University of Technology. Bachelor's degree graduates are to be prepared to "meet the challenges of intelligent construction". The program is conducted by three faculties, and students receive knowledge both in the field of architecture and construction, electrical engineering and environmental engineering.
