People who are just planning their professional careers or considering a career change often take into account the job market conditions in a specific city. It's no wonder that people living in Łódź on a daily basis (or planning to move there) look for various rankings and lists that will help them understand what employers are looking for. Which specialists are currently lacking in Łódź and what are the forecasts for the future?
Who can count on quick employment?
In Łódź (and the entire łódzkie voivodeship) there are currently many companies operating – including foreign ones. In order for them to find clients for their services or products (or establish cooperation with suppliers and other companies), it is necessary to employ a good sales representative. Reports and job offers from the largest Łódź employers (such as Atlas) show that sales representatives are still in high demand. Polyglots are also lacking – many Łódź companies (led by Fujitsu, Infosys, and Capita) are looking for people who are fluent in foreign languages (mainly English and German, but there is sometimes demand for knowledge of other languages as well). They are waiting for positions as foreign customer service specialists. It's worth noting that in both cases employees cannot complain about earnings – they range from several to tens of thousands of zlotys (depending on the position, company, and work experience; the amount of tens of thousands of zlotys in this case mainly concerns sales representatives).

IT industry, machine operators, logistics specialists
Throughout the country there is a shortage of computer scientists, computer analysts, and programmers. It is the same in Łódź. They will find employment in companies such as Deloitte, EY, PwC, and also in Transition Technologies, where there is a lack of people with appropriate IT skills. There is also a need for machine operators (including weaving and knitting machine operators, although most people are sought for work with food processing machines, woodworking, and rubber products production). Due to the city's favorable location, many logistics companies also have their headquarters in Łódź (or in its surroundings) – people who efficiently manage supply chains can also count on employment.
Financial analysts and pharmacists
In Łódź, without a doubt, two industries have the greatest future – IT and the financial sector. In the case of the latter, there is definitely a shortage of economists and financial analysts, and perhaps soon the demand for them will be even greater. Pharmacists should also not complain about the lack of job offers; the revenues of Łódź pharmaceutical companies are truly impressive. The largest employers in this sector include Adamed, Aflofarm, Sensilab, and Sandoz.

People who are just planning their professional careers or want to change fields should therefore aim for the IT industry, logistics, finance, pharmaceuticals, or trade. Knowledge of foreign languages is also of great importance.
