Klub Dąbrowa (Miejska Strefa Kultury)

Klub Dąbrowa at ul. Dąbrowskiego 93 is one of the oldest cultural centres in this part of Łódź. It has operated since 1973, for over two decades it was a branch of Centrum Kultury Młodych, and since 2022 it belongs to Miejska Strefa Kultury and operates under the name MSK: Dąbrowa.

From neighbourhood club to Miejska Strefa Kultury

The facility opened in 1973. In 1999, the cultural centre at ul. gen. Jarosława Dąbrowskiego 93 was incorporated into the structures of Centrum Kultury Młodych, an institution founded in 1984, with its headquarters at ul. Lokatorska 13. This arrangement, with the main office in Chojny and a branch at Dąbrowskiego, continued until 2022. The club was then separated from CKM, and both facilities became part of Miejska Strefa Kultury in Łódź. In older guides the facility is sometimes described as a CKM branch, although today it is a separate MSK department.

Performance hall

The main space of the club is a performance hall with an area of 112.5 square metres, with seating for 50 people. It is equipped with a modular stage, a Calisia piano, mirrors and cupboards. The technical equipment includes a Yamaha MG16XU mixer, EV EKX-12P and EKX-15SP speakers, a set of Shure wired and wireless microphones, three LED strips above the stage, wireless lighting control and a projector with a pull-down screen. The hall is served by two air conditioning units. Miejska Strefa Kultury states that the room is located on the first floor and is accessible for people with disabilities, with the possibility of wheelchair access. The hall is used for concerts, theatrical performances, training, conferences, workshops, meetings and classes.

Classes and events

The club's programme is aimed at children, adults and seniors. Miejska Strefa Kultury lists dance classes, educational workshops, art classes and art studios in its offer, and for older participants chair gymnastics and games. Registration is conducted seasonally; before the start of the academic year, the club organises an open day, during which you can get to know the offer and instructors. The calendar also features concerts, including performances by friendly bands and choirs, and one-off handicraft workshops.
