A reservoir of over 30 hectares on the Mroga river with a guarded beach made of dune sand, a water park and a wake park.
Mrożyczka Reservoir is a water body covering more than 30 hectares on the Mroza river, located in the central part of Głowno. In summer, a supervised bathing area with a sandy beach operates here, and year-round the area serves as a place for walks and water-based recreation.
The reservoir consists of two bodies of water separated by a dam, across which national road number 14 runs. The sandy beach was created from sand from inland dunes, which are a local natural curiosity in Głowno. By the beach stands a recreational pier built in 2017, with a viewing pavilion and a concert and dance pavilion on it.
The bathing area operates seasonally, daily from 11:00 to 19:00, under the supervision of the sanitary authority and a qualified lifeguard. The bathing conditions are signalled by a flag: white means bathing is permitted, red introduces a ban on entering the water. The information refers to the summer season; it is worth checking the current status on the manager's website before your visit.
Free sun loungers and parasols are available on the beach, and for children there is a water park with inflatable slides and a playground in the shape of a ship. The recreational area also includes a Wake Park, beach volleyball and beach football pitches and an educational path, so the reservoir attracts both swimmers and water sports enthusiasts.
There are mooring places for sailing vessels over the reservoir, making it one of the few points in the region where bathing can be combined with sailing. Wake Park allows for riding a board pulled by a cable, without the need to own a motorboat. Beach volleyball and beach football pitches are available to all visitors, including those not part of organised groups.
The sand on the beach comes from inland dunes, which are a local natural curiosity in the Głowno area. This is a different solution than in many artificial bathing areas, where sand is brought in from outside. The recreational pier with a viewing pavilion and a concert and dance pavilion was built in 2017 and has since been a permanent feature of the area over the reservoir.
