Mural by Andrzej PoProstu located on Pomorska 79. An interesting example of contemporary street art worth seeing during a walk around Łódź.
At ulica Pomorska 79 in Łódź, on the wall of a former factory building, in 2016 a mural by Polish artist Andrzej PoProstu from Toruń was created, titled Second Life of the Factory.
Andrzej PoProstu drew inspiration from old stencils, engravings and fabric patterns that were used in the production of textiles in Łódź factories. The composition refers to the historical design of clothing patterns, and through this the mural directly relates to the industrial past of the building on which it was created.
Second Life of the Factory was used for a three-dimensional mapping projection, during which the mural gained movement and additional layers of image on its surface through light projection. The mural itself remains on the wall permanently, and the mapping accompanied its presentation during the festival.
The work was created as part of the Energia Miasta 2016 festival, in the same year that murals by Israeli artists were painted in Bałuty, invited to Łódź in connection with the district's history: the verse mural by Nitzan Mintz and the mural Searching Safety by DEDE Bandaid.
