Another portrait of a Jewish boy from the Łódź ghetto stands on Łagiewnicka 33, a few doors from the same artists' twin mural.
The mural at ulica Łagiewnickiej 33 in the Bałuty district of Łódź depicts a Jewish boy deported to the Łódź ghetto. It was created in October 2016 as part of the Dzieci Bałut project - murals of remembrance. It was painted by Piotr Saul, assistant at ASP in Wrocław, and Damian Idzikowski, assistant at ASP in Łódź.
The project was established in 2012, and the first three portraits were painted on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Wielka Szpera [Great Cleansing], a liquidation operation in the Łódź ghetto. Subsequent murals, including the one at Łagiewnickiej 33, were created based on archival photographs of children deported to the ghetto. The 2016 edition commemorated the 75th anniversary of the deportation of twenty thousand Western European Jews to the Łódź ghetto. By 2018, 21 portraits of Jewish, Romani and Polish children who were prisoners of the camp had been created as part of the entire cycle.
In the area it is also worth seeing the mural of Zisele Świerc by the same artists and the mural Boy from the ghetto.
