Mural – various artists

dworzec Łódź Kaliska, Łódź
About Mural – various artists

A collection of murals by various artists at Łódź Kaliska railway station. Worth visiting to see contemporary street art and discover works by local creators.

This entry concerns a wall mural in the area of Łódź Kaliska railway station. Neither the author nor the date of creation is confirmed by any public catalogue of Łódź street art, so below you will find what is certain: where the location is and what to expect.

Where the mural is located

The mural is situated at Łódź Kaliska railway station, on the western side of the city centre, in the Polesie district and Zdrowie-Mania housing estate. The station has been operating since 1902, and Czesław Domanewski's Art Nouveau building was replaced in 1994 by a postmodern structure. The area is a major transport hub: tram and bus lines converge here, and a bus station operates nearby.

Why the authors are unknown

Łódź has approximately two hundred large-format murals, but only part of them are documented. The records of the Urban Forms Foundation cover works commissioned since 2010; walls painted without a commission and without the artist's signature remain outside the catalogue. This mural belongs to the second group, hence the entry uses a general term referring to various artists. Works with names and dates can be found mainly on Piotrkowska.
