About Pałac Piorunów & SPA

Pałac Piorunów is an atmospheric place with a rich history, where visitors can spend time in stylish rooms, use the spa or play tennis. Worth visiting for those seeking relaxation and a connection with the past.

Pałac Piorunów is a listed manor house built in 1925, renovated in 2004-2005, which today functions as a hotel with an SPA complex and restaurant. The building combines the heritage value of the structure with modern facilities for leisure and business.

History of construction and literary inspiration

The manor was built in 1925 by Lucjan Niemyski, son of Leon Niemyski, who acquired the estate in 1917. Piorunów gained particular significance in the history of Polish literature as an inspiration for writer Maria Dąbrowska. Dąbrowska visited the estate from April 1927 onwards, and wove the atmosphere and descriptions of this place into her famous novel Noce i dnie [Nights and Days]. The combination of historic structures with a rich cultural history makes the building particularly important for understanding interwar aristocratic culture.

History of the manor in the twentieth century

After the Second World War the manor passed under the management of the Państwowe Gospodarstwa Rolne [State Agricultural Farms], and later functioned as a holiday centre for the Provincial Command of the Milicja Obywatelska [Civic Militia] in Sieradz. In 1994 the estate was purchased by a private individual, later passed to a bank, before in 2003 coming into the hands of the current owner. The owner carried out extensive restoration, and in 2004-2005 the building was renovated and extended with the addition of a portico supported on four columns.

Function as a hotel and SPA centre

Pałac Piorunów operates as a fully equipped hotel for business guests and tourists. The complex has three conference rooms, the largest of which has an area of 38 m2. The SPA centre features an indoor pool, steam sauna, dry sauna and jacuzzi. Fitness facilities and restaurant infrastructure are also available. All facilities serve both hotel guests and individual SPA visitors.
