Przystań nad Pilicą Tomaszów Mazowiecki

Przystań nad Pilicą is a municipal recreational area on the left bank of the river in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, on ul. PCK. The local authority revitalised it and opened it to the public in 2020, combining a supervised beach, kayaking infrastructure, a summer amphitheatre, sports courts and an outdoor gym in one waterside location.

What was built during the revitalisation

The municipal investment involved the reconstruction of existing buildings and the construction of a summer amphitheatre stage, an eco-zone for children, sports courts, an outdoor gym and a catering area. Infrastructure for kayak tourism was also added: boat ramps, slips and pontoons, as well as new footpaths, LED lighting and CCTV. The project reached the final of the Modernisation of the Year competition in its 25th edition.

Beach and bathing area

The sandy beach is approximately 65 metres long and has a designated bathing zone with shallow water for children. The bathing area is supervised and is listed in the official Bathing Water Service of the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, which means regular water quality checks. In the 2026 season, the beach operated from 15 June to 31 August, daily from 10:00 to 18:00, but it is worth checking these dates before travelling as they may change from year to year.

Sport and recreation by the water

The area has a volleyball and beach handball court, two basketball courts, a tennis court and an outdoor gym. There is also equipment and kayak hire and a rope park at the beach, separate from the Rope park on the Pilica operating in another part of the city. A grill and bonfire area attracts groups seeking a longer stay by the river.

History and education on site

Information boards on the grounds describe the local sporting history and industrial heritage of Tomaszów Mazowiecki. This complements the recreational function and is useful for visitors with school-age children. Those seeking more historical context about the city will find it in the waterside promenades along the Pilica near the New Boulevards Municipal Park.
