Source of the Bełdówka River

Wola Grzymkowa 70J, Wola Grzymkowa
About Source of the Bełdówka River

The source of the small Bełdówka river near Wola Grzymkowa, over 30 kilometres long and once powering six watermills on its way to the Ner.

The source of the Bełdówka River is located south-east of the village of Wola Grzymkowa, in the gmina [municipality] of Dalików. The Bełdówka is a small watercourse, which today measures 30.82 kilometres in length and flows in a westerly direction through partially forested areas, on the border between the gminas of Dalików and Poddębice.

River course

The river flows into the Ner in the village of Góra Bałdrzychowska. The Ner is a tributary of the Warta, and the Warta flows into the Oder, so water from the area around Wola Grzymkowa ultimately reaches the Baltic Sea through this entire river system. Along its course, the Bełdówka forms six ponds, and historically powered an equal number of water mills. From the left bank it also receives an unnamed stream flowing from Wola Grzymkowa, which formerly supplied four additional ponds and mills.
