Performance, Festiwal Łódź Wielu Kultur.
A performative reading based on letters, manifestos, and interviews by Alina Szapocznikow, a sculptor who used the written word as consciously as she did sculpture. Texts selected by actress Emilia Dryja from Teatru Lalek Arlekin w Łodzi are not read in a traditional manner—their physicality and plasticity are translated into movement, gesture, and the performer's physical presence.
The event takes place alongside an open-air exhibition dedicated to Szapocznikow and creates a kind of dialogue with it, allowing us to hear the voice of an artist whose biography is connected to experiences of the Holocaust, migration, and illness. Aimed primarily at young people from age 13 and adults interested in art and theater, it requires no prior knowledge of Szapocznikow's work.
