The artist opposes the idealistic image of feminine physiognomy while simultaneously seeking a safe territory – even if it turns out to be coal heaps and industrial waste dumps. We invite you to the opening on July 6 at 6:00 PM at Akademickie Centrum Designu! Joanna Pawlik remains motionless. Her body keeps vigil amid a panorama of coal heaps, mining waste, wastelands and industrial remnants. This distorted landscape does not overwhelm her; it decidedly fills and permeates her. As she recalls, she belongs to those who have already left behind what is most dangerous and can freely find themselves in almost any space. The performer celebrates the non-normative body, elevates it, rejecting social classifications and the canons of classical rigor.
