BBB Saturday 0-1

Baby Boom Bum is a class at Sala Kameralna Filharmonii Łódzkiej designed for the youngest children, up to the end of their first year of life. The Baby Boom Bum workshops are based on the concept of American musician, jazz artist and pedagogue Edwin Elias Gordon (1927-2015). Gordon believed that music should be treated like a language that people learn from the first moments of life, learning to understand it and communicate through it. He also emphasized that small children are most receptive and susceptible to learning: "Those who know a lot about child development sometimes joke that they would like to die as small children, but as soon as possible. They realize that learning capacity is never greater than at the moment of birth. Therefore, assuming that the most important period for learning is from the first moments after birth (and perhaps even before) until the end of the third year of life, the child should be guided to receive unstructured, informal influences." Classes are conducted by certified instructors of the Edwin Elias Gordon method.
