NIECH ŻYJĄ KAJDANY is a mini-festival showcasing films by one of cinema's greatest provocateurs—a filmmaker who boldly exposed the hypocrisy beneath bourgeois morality and religious dogma with irony, sophistication, and imagination that many creators envy to this day. The program features three films that continue to provoke and unsettle audiences: Viridiana, Buñuel's most acclaimed work and winner of the Palme d'Or at Cannes—a daring and uncompromising critique of religious ideals and false charity that caused a major scandal at its premiere and remains powerful today; and Le Charme discret de la bourgeoisie, an elegant, cool yet intensely sensual tale of hidden desires.
