A meeting organized by Łódź Wielu Kultur Festival. Discussion of the novel by Ilyas Churi, a Lebanese writer who explores the intertwining of Jewish and Palestinian destinies, avoiding simplistic analogies between the two experiences of violence and loss. The book and memory will be discussed by translator Hanna Jankowska and philosopher Adam Lipszyc, with the conversation moderated by Monika Bobako, who specializes in Israeli-Palestinian issues.
Following the author discussion, participants will be invited to an open circle conversation facilitated by members of the Nowa Wspólnota Foundation, where attendees can share emotions evoked by the book. The event is aimed at people interested in literature, memory, and the history of Jews and Palestinians. Prior registration is required.
