Do media still need truth and facts? - debate on public debate at Biblioteka Wolność

We treat this book as an impulse for broader reflection on the contemporary media landscape. With our guests, we will discuss whether and how media contribute to the spread of unverified or false information, as well as how the categories of 'truth', 'knowledge', and 'misinformation' are socially and institutionally constructed. We will examine the boundaries of public debate: who should have a voice in it and on what terms, and who gets excluded from it and how. We will ask where the line runs between pluralism and delegitimizing certain forms of knowledge – and what political and social consequences follow from drawing it.
