Guided Museum Tour "In the Footsteps of Andrzej Wajda" | Museum of Cinematography

Visitors will see unique objects related to Andrzej Wajda's film productions. The tour route has been enriched with 6 new exhibits from the temporary exhibition "40 Treasures for the Museum of Cinematography's 40th Anniversary", including: the screenplay for "The Young Ladies from Wilko", Bucholc's cane from "The Promised Land", and a Christ statue from "Ashes and Diamonds". Guests will hear behind-the-scenes stories, including the history of the director receiving an Honorary Oscar on March 26, 2000 during the 72nd Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles for his lifetime achievement. The exhibition also presents production documents for "A Generation" (1954), posters of the director's films, as well as set design and costume projects for "Ashes". The Scheibler Palace – today's Museum headquarters – holds a special place in this narrative, as it became one of the filming locations for "The Promised Land". Many of the displayed items are personal gifts from Andrzej Wajda to the Museum's collection.
