We will tell you how Łódź's PPS activities and the clandestine "Robotnik" helped create the social foundation for Poland's later struggle for independence.
We will also explore the history of this place after the secret printing house ceased operations. In 1938, in the same apartment at ul. Wschodnia 19, a Museum dedicated to memories of First Marshal and Leader of the Nation Józef Piłsudski was opened. It was established on the initiative of the Łódź circle of the Association of Reserve Officers of the Polish Republic and operated from November 11, 1938 until the outbreak of World War II. We will discuss the behind-the-scenes story of its creation, preparations for opening, and how the activities of Józef and Maria Piłsudski were commemorated in this place even before the war.
It is this museum history that today's BIBUŁA references – the current exhibition contains a reconstruction of the prewar display, and the Józef Piłsudski Museum in Sulejówek continues the legacy of that institution.
