Hania Rani and John Akomfrah | Listening All Night To The Rain | Fotofestiwal 2026

On June 18th at the opening of Fotofestiwal in Łódź, as part of the 25th anniversary celebration, in the exceptional historic space of the Scheibler family power plant, now Fuzja, Hania Rani will present a unique live performance—a composition for piano and percussion instruments written specifically for this event. Her music will create a singular dialogue with John Akomfrah's eight-screen, seventeen-channel sound installation—Listening All Night To The Rain. Originally created for the British Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2022, this work will be shown in Poland for the first time. Akomfrah is a philosopher, artist, and one of the most important figures in contemporary video art. Since founding the Black Audio Film Collective in 1982, he has created deeply political and collective works.
