Janusz Prusinowski Kompania - Concert at Teatr Szwalnia

A dance concert by Janusz Prusinowski Kompania featuring traditional Polish music including oberki, mazurkas, kujawiaks, kujony, wiwaty, polkas, and waltzes drawn largely from folk musicians of regions bordering Łódź. The concert will include space for dancing, vocal performances, and guest musicians from Łódź, particularly from Łódzki Dom Tańca. Patryk Petersson from Łódzki Dom Tańca will lead a brief introduction to traditional Polish dances - no prior experience needed. The Kompania's distinctive style interprets the essential elements of Central Polish village music through sung, played, and improvised pieces. The group has performed across Europe, Asia, and North America including venues like Carnegie Hall and Chicago Symphony Center. Janusz Prusinowski and Piotr Piszczatowski are co-founders of the Domy Tańca movement in Poland and co-creators of the Wszystkie Mazurki Świata festival.
