A loom as a tool and medium – perfect for finding your own style – which is worth exploring and deserves to be demystified. Its status is often associated with the boredom of craftwork reproduction of tablecloths or dishcloths. The boundary between craft and art is fragile and easy to break. The loom constantly cooperates with the weaver and yields to them, and from the chaos of many threads emerges order and focus on the weave. Interlacing becomes simple. The arrangements of warp and weft threads according to the rhythm of successive weaves create a field for continuous experimentation with texture and material. They also offer the possibility of freedom to experiment and create an artistic and personal expression. The aim of this project is to create a space for building in students a sense of agency that gives them confidence and courage to create.
