Free Book Club - Queer Book Discussion Club - meeting about 'Dignity Please' by Maja Heban at Biblioteka Wolność

This book is a personal manifesto and a continuation of the author's activist work. Maja Heban sets two goals: to help cisgender people understand transgender identity and to give her own community satisfaction that the postulates and reflections shared by at least some people can be loudly expressed. Rooted in the author's biography, the narrative does not aim to establish a canon of what transgender identity is and can be, as each person's experience and needs are different. Through her personal perspective, the author wishes to reach those who cannot empirically learn about transgender identity, but also those who—though they live with rightful anger directed at daily struggles—seek hope and equality.
