Concert from the "Interferencje" series - Antonina Nowacka at Pałac Alfreda Biedermanna

On Sunday (May 24), in the next installment of the "Interpretacje" concert series, we will listen to a vocalist, composer, and sound artist. Antonina Nowacka is deeply interested in the nature of sound – especially its impact on the nervous system and music's ability to guide the performer and listeners into specific states of mind. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in Mirosław Bałka's studio, musicology at ISI Yogyakarta (thanks to a scholarship from the Indonesian Ministry of Culture), and traditional Hindustani vocal techniques. Drawing from traditional music, natural phenomena, and hypnagogic states, she creates performances combining sound, architecture, and imagination. Her explorations revolve around ancient music – religious songs, antique and operatic pieces – as well as experiments with electronics.
