Between 1941 and Today. Jan Tomasz Gross and Adrian Cioflâncă on Anti-Jewish Pogroms in Europe at Centrum Dialogu

Guests at this event will include historian and sociologist Jan Tomasz Gross, author of numerous publications on the Holocaust and Polish-Jewish relations, and Romanian historian Adrian Cioflâncă, a researcher of antisemitism and the Holocaust in Romania. The conversation will be moderated by Przemysław Witkowski. The discussion will be anchored by the 85th anniversary of pogroms in Jedwabne and Iași. Participants will explore the mechanisms of anti-Jewish violence, collective memory of these events, and how democratic societies confront their own history. The event will compare the experiences of Poland and Romania and reflect on how historical memory influences contemporary social life. The event is part of the Pop-up Romania program.
