Best of the Worst: Embryo's Revenge (screening with lecture and discussion) at Kino NCKF EC1

A group of people ends up in a place that is simultaneously a brothel and a shady clinic where morality left long ago through the back door. When one of the side effects of a procedure transforms into a mutant, random clients and staff become trapped in the building. It quickly turns out that the biggest problem isn't the monster, but the characters' decisions. Relationships between people fall apart faster than their common sense: someone seizes power, someone shoots someone, and each successive escape plan sounds worse than the last. The film is more of a grotesque confined within four walls than a horror—a sticky atmosphere mixed with dialogue that sounds like improvised arguments at three in the morning. Instead of great terror, we get a series of absurd situations and theatrical reactions.
