Ted Kotcheff's cult film allowed Sylvester Stallone to reach the top of Hollywood's greatest stars list, and also spawned four sequels and thousands of pop culture references. However, it is often forgotten that 'Rambo: First Blood' is not only an excellent action film, but above all a masterpiece of anti-war cinema dealing with post-traumatic stress and mercilessly reopening the wound that the recently ended Vietnam War inflicted on American society.
