Soundedit '26 - "Lech Janerka – Śpij, śpij inteligencie" film screening and meeting at Kino Charlie

On October 24 at 4:00 PM at Kino Charlie, a screening of the film "Lech Janerka - Śpij, śpij inteligencie" will take place. Following the screening, a meeting with Lech Janerka and the film's director, Grzegorz Brzozowicz, is planned. The film is the first documentary devoted to one of the most important figures in Polish music. It combines Lech Janerka's personal memories with archival concert recordings, including material from the Klaus Mitffoch ensemble, and a record of seven decades of Polish history. The narrative is conducted like a journey between waking and dreaming, a motif particularly significant in Janerka's lyrics. The documentary presents the artist through the lens of his memories, music and legacy, while simultaneously depicting the changing Poland, which Janerka has been observing and commenting on for decades. In 2014, Lech Janerka received the Soundedit Festival award "Man with the Golden Ear" for "exceptional musical sensitivity and mastery of word". In 2024, he won five Fryderyk Awards for the album "Gipsowy odlew falsyfikatu", released after an 18-year break. The event was realized with support from the City of Łódź and Łódź Event Centre, as part of a strategy promoting Łódź as a city of creative industries. It was co-financed with funds from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund, as part of the "Music" program implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
