BICYCLE TOUR "To the Warsaw-Vienna Railway Station" (Start: Park Staromiejski)

First meeting point: Łódź ul. Nowomiejska (park Staromiejski "Śledzia" at the sundial) at 9:00 AM. Second meeting point: corner of Al. Rodziny Grochmanów and Wydawnicza at 9:30 AM. Tour end: Łódź ul. Rzgowska at Trasa Górna. Distance: approx. 65 km. Led by our colleague Mariusz K. We will cycle parallel to ul. Rokicińska on gravel paths and forest trails through Bedoń to Rokiciny-Kolonia Railway Station, where the station building on the Warsaw-Vienna Railway line was constructed in classical style in 1846—exactly 180 years ago—and has undergone renovation and modernization since September 2024. We will discuss the role the station and the adjacent Post Coach Inn building played during the "Promised Land" era and explain why the railway line to Łódź and the railway junction were established.
