About this event
A two-act ballet based on Władysław Reymont's novel. The story follows Anka's unrequited love for Karol, his romance with Lucy Zukerowa, and intrigue among competitors including the crude Müller. The city itself becomes the main protagonist. Created by British choreographer Gray Veredon in 1999, the performance celebrates Łódź through its workers, weavers, and dyers, capturing the city's unique character, past, present, culture and traditions.
