It's no secret that student life consists of more than just exams and revision. Free time and entertainment are an equally important part of student life. Below is a list of 10 popular venues worth visiting as a student in Łódź, whatever your budget.
1. Pub and club Łódź Kaliska - ul. Piotrkowska 102
The name itself captures the spirit of the city. The club is the seat of the Łódź Kaliska artistic group and also serves as an art gallery, hosting concerts, exhibitions, film screenings and performance art. It is open Wednesday to Friday, 5pm-2am, and until 6am on Saturdays.
2. Pub Biblioteka - ul. Struga 7
An intimate pub in the city centre, close to the University of Łódź, popular with students. The venue hosts football broadcasts, karaoke and stand-up nights, and on Wednesdays students can get a beer discount that runs all day.
3. Compañeros - Off Piotrkowska Center, ul. Roosevelta 10
This former factory complex in the city centre, known for years as Off Piotrkowska, now operates under the name Off Piotrkowska Center and combines offices, a coworking space and dining in industrial red-brick interiors. Compañeros is a Mexican restaurant and bar with one of the largest tequila and mezcal selections in Łódź - a good spot for dinner together before an evening at the clubs on the complex grounds.

4. Bajka Disco Club - ul. Stanisława Moniuszki 1
The Na Językach club operated at this address for years; today it is home to Bajka Disco Club, a disco of over 600 m² with two dance floors (Polish music and club hits) and several VIP rooms. It's one of the more recognisable spots for an evening out with friends, just a few minutes from the centre of Łódź.
5. Manekin Pancake House - ul. 6 Sierpnia 1

6. Zapiekarnia - ul. Piotrkowska 52
Zapiekanki (baked open-faced sandwiches) fresh from the oven, made on-site with fresh ingredients. Savoury options are available, alongside vegetarian, vegan and sweet versions. The venue has been running since 2009 and stays open late, including at weekends.
7. Istanbul Kebab - ul. Piotrkowska 88
