Going out for a beer together is one of the most popular ways to spend free time with friends. Beer lovers will find plenty of pubs in Łódź serving good beer, often craft and locally brewed. We checked which venues in Łódź are still open and serve good beer.
1. Piwoteka Narodowa - 6 Sierpnia 1/3 Street
The name of this venue, run by the Piwoteka brewery, does not mean it only serves Polish beers. You can taste brews from all corners of the world here, including experimental beers made to unique recipes, some of them brewed at the Księży Młyn or Jan Olbracht breweries. Wooden tables, bottle caps, beer mats and posters about the art of brewing from around the world create the venue's distinctive atmosphere.
2. Chmielowa Dolina - 123 Piotrkowska Street
At Chmielowa Dolina even the décor is tied to the art of brewing: real hop cones hang from the ceiling, and the wooden tables and decorations echo German pubs. The menu lists over a dozen draught beers, mostly from small Polish and Czech breweries, and the venue is open from the afternoon into the late evening.

3. PiwPaw - 147 Piotrkowska Street
A spot for those who like plenty of choice: PiwPaw has 104 beer taps, making it one of the largest venues of its kind in Poland. Alongside beers from well-known Polish and foreign craft breweries, you can try beers from its own Bazyliszek brand, brewed on site.
4. Księży Młyn - 22/24 Tymienieckiego Street
A restaurant brewery operating since 2014 in the former cotton-picking building that once belonged to the Łódź industrialist Ludwik Grohman, next to the historic Księży Młyn estate. A dozen or so beer varieties are brewed on the premises, and the kitchen combines Łódź's industrial tradition with modern dishes. The venue is closed on Mondays.
5. Biblioteka - 7 Andrzeja Struga Street
A cult pub that has been on Łódź's nightlife map for years, popular with students from nearby universities. In this basement venue you can drop in for an evening beer or a daytime coffee. Varied music and an original interior, complete with bookshelves, keep bringing guests back.

6. Cesky Film - 25a Tymienieckiego Street
One of the few places in Łódź serving Czech specialities made to original recipes. The venue, open since 2011, sits on the site of the former Scheibler textile empire. Beer fans will find several draught beers from the Cerna Hora brewery, plus a wide range of bottled beers.
7. Klubopiwiarnia - 7/9 Narutowicza Street
A combination of a music club and a beer bar right in the city centre, a hundred metres from Piotrkowska Street. The in-house Warkot microbrewery brews several beers at once, and the venue regularly hosts concerts. It is worth checking the events calendar before visiting, as some evenings have limited capacity.
8. The Eclipse Inn - 80 Piotrkowska Street
A venue that is very welcoming to tourists, tucked away in one of Piotrkowska Street's courtyards. A wide choice of beers from around the world, including British beers and cider, draws visitors in, while brick walls and a fireplace create the feel of a traditional English pub. A pub quiz is held here on Wednesdays, and it is worth signing up in advance.

9. Galicja - Manufaktura, 19a Ogrodowa Street
At Galicja you can drink both keg and bottled beers, sourced from regional craft breweries as well as from various parts of the world. The venue has a distinctive interior: brick and wooden elements made by craftsmen, spread across two levels. If the beer sharpens your appetite, it is worth trying the Galician specialities served by the kitchen here.
