On the third floor of a Piotrkowska tenement, this bar and art gallery mixes concerts and exhibitions with daytime creative co-working space.
6. Dzielnica is a bar and art gallery operating on the third floor of a listed building at ulica Piotrkowska 102 in central Łódź. The combination of club and cultural space creates an alternative to traditional entertainment venues – here art and music go hand in hand. Dzielnica organises concerts, photography and fine art exhibitions, film screenings and artistic debates. The building housing the bar and gallery was erected in the 1880s for Albert Starke on the site of an earlier wooden house, and in the early 1890s the entire property passed into the hands of the Juliusz Heinzel joint-stock company.
It occupies the third floor of a building in the heart of Piotrkowska, Łódź's main pedestrian avenue and cultural centre. This location is no coincidence – directly below the building, Lordi's Club & FooFoo Bar occupies the lower floors, giving the entire building a varied character: from mass discotheque events on the lower levels to artistic gatherings above the dancing crowds. 6. Dzielnica is a haven for those seeking a more intimate atmosphere and dialogue with art.
The bar and gallery specialises in organising concerts by small groups, photography and painting exhibitions, screenings of art films and discussions devoted to art and culture. This is a place where Łódź artists can showcase their work and the public has the chance to meet creators directly. Each evening is dedicated to a different artistic experience – from vernissage to jam session or lecture. 6. Dzielnica continues to evolve, responding to the needs of the local artistic community.
During the day, 6. Dzielnica functions as an ideal shared workspace – a coworking desk for freelancers, business meetings and creative work. In the evenings, the space transforms into a club haven for seekers of more reflective entertainment. This duality is the strength of the concept – one place for many needs, adapting to the rhythm of the day.
The audience of 6. Dzielnica is typically artists, students, journalists and people interested in alternative culture. It is a place where you can discuss art over a drink without feeling out of place or unwelcome. The atmosphere is open and welcoming – anyone can participate in events, regardless of artistic experience.
