The bridge over the Rawka in central Rawa Mazowiecka was rebuilt in 1766 after a town fire, and the river beneath it has a meandering course resembling a mountain stream.
Most na Rawce connects two parts of Rawa Mazowiecka along ulica Faworna, carrying road traffic over the Rawka river in the city centre. It is one element of local road infrastructure, rebuilt over the course of centuries.
According to local sources, the bridge on the Rawka was rebuilt in 1766 on the initiative of starost [county administrator] Franciszek Lanckoroński, as part of the broader reconstruction of the city following a fire. Rawa Mazowiecka already had several centuries of history behind it: it received city rights in 1321, and in the 14th century, under Duke Siemowit III, it was even the capital of the Mazovian duchy.
The Rawka is a tributary of the Bzura, distinguished by its meandering, narrow course and numerous natural obstacles, giving it a character resembling a mountain stream. This same character of the river means that the bridge on ulica Faworna has both communicative and landscape significance, as a point from which the Rawka's current can be seen.
In March 2022, the bridge and surrounding road infrastructure along the stretch of aleja Konstytucji 3 Maja and ulica Faworna underwent major renovation, during which the crossing was closed to traffic and diversions were put in place.
