A municipal square on the site of the former Duży Rynek market, with an outdoor gym, a playground and an obelisk marking Poland's millennium.
Municipal Park in Konstantynów Łódzki occupies the area of today's plac Wolności (Wolność Square), formerly known as the Duży Rynek (Great Market), the historical commercial centre of the city. It is a square with running paths, an open-air gym, a playground and rhododendron plantings, where the tram line from Łódź terminates.
The square on which the park now stands served for years as the Duży Rynek, that is, a place of trade and markets in Konstantynów Łódzki. The tram line connecting the city with Łódź terminates at the square, and its terminus stands within the park.
In the park stands an obelisk funded by the Council of Friends of Scouting, and next to it a commemorative stone marking the millennium of the Polish State. Both objects recall the history of the city and region.
Broad paths are suitable for running, and the park also has an open-air gym, a playground for children and a drinking water fountain adapted for adults and children. The greenery is complemented by rhododendrons sourced from a local horticultural nursery. Those seeking indoor recreation will find it in the nearby Centre for Sport and Recreation in Konstantynów Łódzki with a swimming pool and gym.
