Municipal Park in Sieradz, Osiedle Klonowe

The Municipal Park on Osiedle Klonowe [Maple Estate] in Sieradz, on ulica generała Władysława Andersa, was created at the turn of 2020 and 2021 as a new recreational and educational space for residents of the estate. It is one of the younger parks in the city, designed from scratch on land that had not previously served such a function.

Park creation

The park was developed as part of the project "Development of a park with an educational facility on Osiedle Klonowe in Sieradz". The investment was co-financed by the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Łódź [Wojewódzki Fundusz Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej w Łodzi] with a sum of 1.3 million zloty. Work included both planting greenery and building infrastructure: paths, lighting and small architectural elements.

Greenery and infrastructure

Nearly 200 new trees and thousands of shrubs and perennial plants were planted in the park. The area has hardened walking paths and close to 30 LED lamps, which allow the park to be used in the evening and after dark.

Facilities for visitors

Over 50 benches, a pavilion, bins and bicycle racks are located within the park. A separate station was built for dog owners to make walks with animals easier, with dispensers for waste bags and a place for waste.

Educational function

The park has educational elements concerning ecology and environmental protection, aimed primarily at children. These, alongside greenery and lighting, were the main objectives of the project carried out in 2020-2021, which distinguishes this park from traditional, purely recreational urban green spaces.

Visitor opinions

People using the park mention it as a place for walks with children and dogs, praising above all the amount of greenery and tidiness of the grounds. The park is recommended both as a destination for a short evening walk, thanks to lit paths, and for longer rest on benches surrounded by new plantings.
