The European headquarters of Little League Baseball in Kutno, a 17-hectare sports complex with two full-size stadiums, host of the European baseball championships in 1996 and 2001.
At aleja Małej Ligi 1 in Kutno operates the European Little League Baseball Centre, the European headquarters of the Little League Baseball organisation. This is a sports facility with two full-size stadiums and training facilities, rarely found in this part of the continent.
Baseball began to develop in Kutno in 1984, when Juan Echevarria, a Cuban living in the city, began coaching the local youth in this discipline. Eleven years later, in 1995, through an agreement between Little League Incorporated based in Williamsport in the United States and the authorities of Kutno, the European Little League Baseball Centre was formally established.
The centre covers 17 hectares and includes two full-size stadiums with stands and floodlighting for evening play, three training fields and accommodation for players. The stadiums are named after philanthropists Edward Piszka and Stan Musial.
The centre covers teams from Europe and Africa. It hosted the European Baseball Championships in 1996 and 2001. In the 2001/2002 season, juniors from Kutno won the championship of their region and represented Europe at the Little League World Series in Taylor, Michigan in the United States.
At placu Piłsudskiego in central Kutno stands the historic Town Hall in Kutno.
Next to it, in the same square, you can see the monument to Marshal Józef Piłsudski.
