Park Glinianki is a natural oasis in Radomsko where walking paths and rest areas can be found among greenery. An ideal place to spend time outdoors, suitable for families with children and lovers of peaceful walks alike.
Park Glinianki is a modern recreational park covering 5.5 hectares in the Kowalowiec district of Radomsko, opened in December 2023 on the site of a former clay mine and brickworks. The site lies at the intersection of ulica 11 Listopada, ulica Grota-Roweckiego and ulica Matejki.
Before construction, the area was overgrown and neglected, associated by Radomsko residents more with the city's outskirts than a place of recreation. The park opened officially on 6 December 2023, on Saint Nicholas Day. The investment cost over 18 million zloty, of which 7.5 million zloty came from funding by the Regional Operational Programme of Łódź Voivodeship.
Within Glinianki operate a sensory playground, a water pond, zip lines, a cycling track, a slide and a sledging run. Those exercising outdoors will find a street workout zone and a multipurpose sports pitch, while walkers will find a network of lit paths with small architectural elements. Distinctive features of the park are two salt inhalation towers, the largest in Radomsko, lit at night in various colours.
Park Glinianki won the main award in the New green space category in the competition run by the Łódź branch of the Polish Urban Planners Society for the best public space in Łódź Voivodeship. The distinction confirms that the site of the former clay mine was transformed into a well-thought-out recreational space, rather than limited to planting greenery around a playground.
The park is managed by the city of Radomsko, which is responsible for maintaining the greenery, lighting and infrastructure across 5.5 hectares. The scale of the investment and the amount of EU co-financing meant that Glinianki became one of the larger recreational projects completed in Radomsko in recent years.
