A revitalised neighbourhood park by the Wolborka river in the former working-class district of Michałówek, with an outdoor gym and restored steps to the water.
Park Michałówek is a revitalised recreational area in the Tomaszów Mazowiecki district of Michałówek, just above the Wolborka river. You will find an outdoor gym, a trampoline and walking paths here, all created thanks to the city's participatory budget.
Michałówek was established in the twenties and thirties of the twentieth century as a workers' settlement named after Michał Hertz, director of the Tomaszów Artificial Silk Factory. The district consists of around a dozen small residential blocks from the interwar period, arranged along the left bank of the Wolborka.
The park was renovated as part of the second edition of the Participatory Budget of Tomaszów Mazowiecki. The work included installation of an outdoor gym consisting of three double-station devices and a trampoline set on a hardened surface. Concrete paths with drainage were laid, stairs leading to the river were restored with the addition of steel railings, and the remaining pathways were covered with gravel.
This is a small neighbourhood park, designed primarily for residents of the nearby blocks. It borders green areas along the Wolborka, which means a walk from here naturally continues further along the river.
