MOSiR Anilana Swimming Pool

MOSiR Anilana Swimming Pool is an open-air, seasonal bathing facility at ul. Sobolowa 1 on Widzew, operating in summer under the management of the Municipal Centre for Sport and Recreation in Łódź.

What the complex includes

The site contains three pools: a sports pool measuring 50 by 25 metres, a recreational pool with a surface area of approximately 500 square metres, and a paddling pool for the youngest. This layout allows use of the facility by both swimmers training at full distance and families seeking a bathing place.

The facility underwent renovation completed in June 2018. It is worth checking the current state of the infrastructure directly with the operator before your visit.

History of the site and names

The name of the pool dates back to the beginning of the 1960s. The site at Sobolowa went in 1960 to Unia Sports Club, transferred by the Anilana Synthetic Fibres Works, and already then an open-air pool with stands and changing rooms operated here. In 1963, Anilana Sports Club was established on the same site as a continuation of Unia, and the name of the club and facility came from the textile works that funded it. After financial difficulties of the club, the city leased part of the site in 2004, and in 2008 the club operating there took the name UKS Anilana, which functions to this day.
