This page is for parents looking for a place in Łódź and the Łódź region to spend a day
with a child without getting bored themselves. We have gathered water parks, zoos, rope parks,
escape rooms, castles and bowling alleys here - from central Łódź to Kutno, Skierniewice, Piotrków Trybunalski
and smaller towns of the region, each with an address and a note on who it suits.
Where to take kids for water fun: water parks and thermal pools in the region
Water is the safest choice for a whole day with children of any age - Aquapark Fala
on the edge of Park na Zdrowiu in Łódź has the Kamikaze slide and saline pools. A similar setup
awaits at Aquapark Solpark in Kleszczów,
where the pool water is salty and the tube slide is 118 metres long. At Termy
Uniejów the pools are fed by thermal-saline water from boreholes deeper than two kilometres, and much
the same goes for Termy Poddębice, where geothermal water
is distributed across seven pools. Closer to a classic water park is
Aquapark Kutno with an artificial wave pool and slides.
In summer it is worth thinking about open-air bathing spots: by the reservoir in Przedbórz there is a guarded
bathing area with mini-golf, and on the Mroga river in Głowno
Zalew Mrożyczka has a separate water park for the youngest children.
Zoos, gardens and parks where a child meets animals and plants
If your child loves animals, Łódź has one great address for that: Orientarium ZOO Łódź in Park na Zdrowiu, where an underwater tunnel beneath sharks and an
ocean zone dedicated to the fauna of Southeast Asia have operated since 2022. Outside the city, in Borysew near Poddębice, there is
ZOO Safari spread over 26 hectares with a thousand animals,
including white lions and Bengal tigers.
For a calmer day with a child in nature, try Arboretum
SGGW in Rogów, a botanical garden with one of the region's richest tree collections, or
Ogród Zmysłów (Garden of Senses) in Poddębice, a sensory park next to the Renaissance
Grudziński Palace, where small architectural features engage touch, smell and hearing. Older children
will enjoy Dinopark in Kołacinek with life-size dinosaur
figures and a 3D cinema hall, or MIKROKOSMOS
in Ujazd, where insects and microorganisms are shown greatly enlarged.
Rope parks and trampolines: for kids who need to burn off energy
Rope parks and trampoline halls are the best way to burn off energy. In Łódź itself
you will find Stacja Grawitacja in the Górna district, a trampoline park
with a rope course, climbing walls and VALO Motion VR technology, while in Widzew
SALTOS - Wydawnicza combines trampolines with a foam pit,
and SALTOS - Srebrzyńska has a ninja obstacle course. Outside the city,
in Ksawerów, there is Jump Planet with basketball courts, and in Nowa
Sukcesja you will find Hopla Lupa, one of
Europe's larger indoor trampoline parks.
Rope parks out in nature offer a different kind of effort - climbing and obstacles at height.
Park Linowy Arturówek in Łagiewniki Forest is the
largest in central Poland and has five routes, plus paintball and archery. The only rope park
in the Łódź region stands in Zgierz (Park Linowy, 49 obstacles
over 522 metres of ropes), and in Spała a high route spanning 320 metres has a lower variant for children
from the age of three (Park Linowy in Spała). At the castle
in Uniejów a rope park sends visitors on a zipline twice across the bed of the Warta river
(Park Linowy Uniejów), and in the pine forest of Sulejów
Landscape Park Magellan awaits with 61 obstacles
across four routes.
Castles and museums kids watch with curiosity, not boredom
Not every museum bores a child - you just have to pick one where something happens. Manufaktura
has Centrum Nauki Experymentarium (Science Centre), with nearly
70 hands-on stations and VR games. EC1 houses
Centrum Komiksu i Narracji Interaktywnej (Comic Book and Interactive Narrative Centre)
with Poland's largest collection on the history of Polish comics.
Castles give children something else: towers, walls and legends. Zamek
Królewski in Łęczyca (Royal Castle), a Gothic stronghold of Casimir the Great, today houses a museum with folk sculpture
collections about the legend of Boruta. In Opoczno stands Zamek
Kazimierzowski with the Regional Museum, famous for its collection of the region's folk costumes, and in Rawa
Mazowiecka you can see the ruins of a Gothic stronghold with a rebuilt tower
(Zamek Książąt Mazowieckich). For children
fascinated by trains there is another address with no competition:
Kolej Wąskotorowa Rogów - Rawa - Biała (Narrow-Gauge Railway),
with Poland's second-largest collection of vintage rolling stock, running on Sundays from May to
September.
Escape rooms, laser tag and go-karts for older kids
For children over eight or nine, team games work well.
Tkalnia Zagadek on Piotrkowska Street has more than a dozen rooms, including
family variants. Similarly Zagwozdka has a separate family room
called Kajuta Kapitana Raptusa in a basement over the Struga stream. Manufaktura has a two-storey
Arena Laser Games with Wi-Fi vests, and next to it
Jazda!Park combines pool tables, mini bowling and VR simulators.
Go-karts are another hit with kids who already ride a bike confidently. In Bałuty there is a year-round
Gokart Arena with SODI karts in kids' versions, and in
Widzew a two-level Racing Center has a fleet of karts ranging from kids' models to sporty ones.
Bowling alleys and ice rinks all year round
Bowling is an attraction where a child can win at least once even against an adult - in Manufaktura
Kręgielnia Grakula has 28 lanes, and in the thermal spa complex
in Uniejów the four-lane NAUTILUS - Kręgielnia
turns into a music club in the evenings. In winter it is worth checking the ice rinks: the seasonal
Lodowisko Manufaktura, the year-round
Arena Lodowa in Tomaszów Mazowiecki and the indoor rink
in Uniejów (Lodowisko Sirka).
In Skierniewice the Pływalnia Nawa complex has a jacuzzi
and slides, and in winter an ice rink by Lake Zadębie. In Zgierz, on the Wrząca river,
Stacja Nowa Gdynia has pools and a 57.5-metre slide,
and in Rawa Mazowiecka ZGO Aquarium turns its hall
into an ice rink in winter.
Attractions for kids in towns across the Łódź region
Outside Łódź, good places for a trip with a child can be found in many smaller towns.
In Kutno it is the aforementioned water park with its wave pool, in Skierniewice -
Pływalnia Nawa with Lake Zadębie, and in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, next to Arena Lodowa,
it is worth visiting Groty Nagórzyckie (Nagórzyce Caves), former sand pits
opened to visitors with a guide since 2012. In Wieluń a peaceful walk suits
Wieluński Ogród Botaniczny (Wieluń Botanical Garden), a ten-hectare
area with arboretum and alpine garden zones, and around Sieradz
Załęczański Park Krajobrazowy offers a Jurassic
landscape in a bend of the Warta river and cycling trails, while for a rainy day in town there is
Sala Zabaw Bajkowa Kraina (an indoor play area). In Pabianice
Lewityn MOSIR offers bathing by the
Dobrzynka reservoirs and kayak rental, and in Bełchatów
Wawrzkowizna has a beach, a rope park
and a horse stud.
A full list of attractions for kids in the region's capital is on the page attractions for kids in Łódź. In Piotrków Trybunalski (see also attractions for kids in Piotrków Trybunalski) a good option for a few hours with a child is
FunCity Centrum Edukacyjno-Rozrywkowe
dla Dzieci (Educational and Entertainment Centre for Children), an indoor play hall for various age groups, next to
Klockownia, where children build with blocks,
and the Crazy Carts go-kart track
in Focus Mall. In Zduńska Wola (full list: attractions for kids in Zduńska Wola) the best choice for a rainy day is
Bowling Pub on Łaska Street with bowling and billiards, and for a swim it is worth visiting
Miejski Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji (Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre).
In Radomsko (more on the page attractions for kids in Radomsko) older children will enjoy Zagadkowo
Escape Room.
Practical tips: getting there, crowds, rain and what is free
Most attractions in this list are marked as rain-friendly -
water parks, museums, bowling alleys, trampoline halls and escape rooms all operate indoors regardless of
weather. For the attractions in Manufaktura it is worth going on a weekday morning, since weekends
can get crowded. Water parks and bathing spots outside Łódź usually have free parking, and in summer it is better
to arrive early in the morning. Some attractions are free - Arboretum SGGW, Ogród
Zmysłów and Załęczański Park Krajobrazowy do not require a ticket. Check prices before your trip,
as some venues change their rates seasonally.
