Radomsko's library occupies an eclectic 1880 villa built by the owners of the Metalurgia works, with an 80-seat reading room and wheelchair access.
Radomsko Public City Library is located at ulica Narutowicza 4, in a historic villa built in 1880. The building, in eclectic style with classical and neo-baroque elements, was erected by pre-war owners of the "Metalurgia" enterprise.
The library was organised in spring 1945 by Jadwiga Ekielska and Maria Kałkowa. Regular lending to readers began in November 1945. The initial collection consisted of copies donated by residents, with 1200 volumes entered into the inventory at that time.
The building has an area of 1728 square metres. On the ground floor there is a children's lending library and an adult lending library. On the first floor, heated and air-conditioned, there is a reading room for adults with 80 seats, a conference room and an information point with a computer. The library has a ramp and an adapted toilet, and all departments are computerised.
In addition to the main premises, the library operates four branches: no. 1 at ulica Batorego 3, no. 2 at ulica Piastowska 10, no. 3 at ulica Jagiellońska 16 and no. 4 at ulica Brzeźnicka 149. Library Branch no. 3 is located on the same ulica Jagiellońska, where the city swimming pool is also situated.
The library stands about a dozen metres from Fajta and Kałkusiński Square.
On the other side of the street, at Narutowicza 1, is the Regional Museum in Radomsko.
In the same area stands the monument to Władysław Reymont, and a few dozen metres further on is the Collegiate Church of Saint Lambert.
