Kieszonkowy Park Różany

Kieszonkowy Park Różany was created in 2024 on the courtyards between Zagajnikowa Street 7 and Akacjowa Street 6 in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. It is a small, intimate rose garden financed from the city's Participatory Budget, designed as a place of rest in the vicinity of residential blocks.

Participatory budget and location

The park was created on the initiative of residents as part of the Participatory Budget of Tomaszów Mazowiecki for 2024. The site comprises courtyards between Zagajnikowa Street 7 and Akacjowa Street 6. These two addresses mark the park's boundaries, so it tends to be associated with the entire area of these streets rather than with one specific house number.

Pergola and plants

The focal point of the park is a metal pergola in the shape of a cube, painted light grey and overgrown with climbing roses. Wooden and metal benches stand around it. An additional bench in the same style as the pergola has been installed beneath the park's largest tree.

The plantings have a naturalistic character. A total of 2055 plants were planted in the park: garden and trailing roses, ornamental grasses and perennials in shades of pink, blue, purple and white. The species were selected to flower from early summer through autumn and to attract insects and birds.

Character of the place

The rose garden is small and intimate in character, typical of participatory budget projects realised on small urban plots. It is a place for a brief rest and a walk among flowers rather than an extensive pleasure garden. The choice of plants and the wooden and metal elements of minor architecture give it a coherent, modern appearance despite the naturalistic character of the plantings. Why the address differs

The park is described under different addresses because it comprises courtyards of two streets at once. In the city council's statement and local press, the boundaries of the site were given as Zagajnikowa Street 7 and Akacjowa Street 6. The number Akacjowa 8, which appears in some descriptions, is incorrect.
