Skate park in Opoczno stands above the local reservoir, on ul. gen. Kazimierza Bończy-Załęskiego. It is a public sports facility with gentle terrain and obstacles for skateboards, roller skates and BMX, officially opened in September 2023.
The skate park was built in 2023 by the skateparki.pl company from Zgiersz, specialising in this type of infrastructure. The investment was partially financed by EU funds, from the European Regional Development Fund under the Łódzkie Operational Programme for 2014-2020, and was implemented by the Technical and Investment Department of the Municipal Office in Opoczno.
The skate park features benches, a quarter pipe, grindbox, funbox and slide handrails. This set allows both beginners and more advanced skateboard, roller skate and BMX users to train. The facility adjoins the Zalew Opoczno, so it naturally fits into the recreational zone by the water.
The skate park's address is sometimes confused because online databases also list the old entry "Błonie 1". According to the official statement from the Opoczno municipality, the facility is located on ul. gen. Kazimierza Bończy-Załęskiego, directly above the reservoir, not at Błonie. In the same part of the city, closer to the forest, there is also Leśniczówka Opoczno.
