STACJA PILICA Municipal Amphitheatre

STACJA PILICA is a riverbank regeneration project in Inowłódz on the Pilica river, financed through the Polska Deal programme. The multifunctional complex includes an open-air stage with amphitheatre, sports pitches, tennis courts and relaxation zones by the water. The name STACJA PILICA refers to the historical spa station that Inowłódz was when it functioned as a health resort.

Complex infrastructure

The STACJA PILICA project offers a broad recreational programme. The open-air stage over the Pilica river has already been built. An amphitheatre, which is a seating area for the audience, is to be added to the complex. Sports infrastructure includes a field for team games, tennis courts and beach volleyball pitches. Additional facilities include grills, wooden pavilions, benches for tourists, bicycle stands and designated camping areas.

Financing and management

The project is financed by the Polska Deal programme with co-funding of 5.4 million złoty. The total investment budget is 6 million złoty, of which Inowłódz municipality is requesting 600 thousand złoty. The complex is managed by Inowłódz municipality. The project is part of a broader modernisation of riverbank areas, intended to restore the Pilica river as a centre for recreation and leisure for residents and tourists.

History of the name and city context

The name STACJA PILICA is a direct reference to Inowłódz's past, when at its height it functioned as a health resort of regional significance. This history is reflected in the city's architecture and local traditions. The riverbank area regeneration aims to restore this heritage, creating for contemporary visitors a space combining sports recreation with relaxation by the water. The nearby Piotrków region also contains a monument to Nicolaus Copernicus in Piotrków Trybunalski, an important historical point on the map of local attractions.
