Warsaw at the end of the 19th century. Stanisław Wokulski (Marcin Dorociński), a wealthy war veteran, returns home obsessed with winning the heart of the beautiful and proud Izabela Łęcka (Kamila Urzędowska). Despite her aristocratic background, she faces financial ruin. Wokulski enters the labyrinth of aristocratic salons to win her hand, accompanied by his loyal friend Ignacy Rzecki (Marek Kondrat), a romantic who watches helplessly as ideals give way to social ambition and ruthless self-interest. Wokulski navigates rivals, unexpected alliances, and dramatic twists as he pursues his passionate quest.
